Our Coaching Philosophy

Every Lesson Starts With the Why

At Private Lessons, we believe athletes learn better when they understand the reason behind every drill, adjustment, and movement. Dennis and Cameron don't just show players what to do — they explain why it matters, so that understanding carries into every game, practice, and rep after the lesson ends.

Understand the Why

Understand the Why

Players who understand the reason behind a movement apply it longer and more consistently.

Rhythm, Timing and Feel

Rhythm, Timing & Feel

Mechanics matter — and so does athletic movement, timing, and natural rhythm. We never let technique override feel.

Technology as a Tool

Technology as a Tool

We use technology and occasional video when they genuinely help; not because gadgetry is the answer, but because clarity is.

Choose Your Lesson Path

Whether your athlete plays baseball or softball, Dennis and Cameron offer personalized private instruction built around your player's age, skill level, and goals.

What Parents Are Saying

Real Results From Real Families

Testimonial background

"My son had struggled with his swing for two seasons. After just a few sessions with Dennis, he came home and said 'I finally get why I keep missing.' That understanding showed up in his next game — and it stuck."

Quick Answers for Parents

Have a question before you reach out? These are the ones parents ask most.

  • What ages do you work with?

Dennis and Cameron primarily work with youth athletes ages 8–13, though they welcome players who are younger or older depending on readiness and goals. Every lesson is tailored to where your athlete is right now.
  • Do you work with beginners?

Absolutely. Whether your child is picking up a bat for the first time or competing at a travel level, instruction is built around your athlete's current skill level — not a one-size-fits-all program.
  • How long is a typical lesson?

Most private lessons run 30–60 minutes depending on the session type and the athlete's age and focus area. Length and format are confirmed when scheduling.
  • What should my athlete bring?

Bring your athlete's glove, bat (if applicable), helmet, and cleats or athletic shoes. Specific equipment needs will be confirmed when you request a lesson.
